With the new Fortis 6 series riflescopes, Leica combines a puristic design with high optical imaging performance. With an up to 50 % larger exit pupil (lager than Visus model) and an extremely wide field of view at min and max magnification, the Leica Fortis 6 is today the hogh class riflescope of the 6 x zoom class. New scope has new, improved, more confortable and rigid H - PM (high precision mechanism for magnification setting. Light transmission now is close to 92 % (similarly obtaines for Magnus top serie ). In addition to the image quality and functionality of the Fortis riflescope, its nitrogen-filled aluminum housing is built for reliable performance in heavy rain, extreme humidity, and rapid temperature changes. Exposed lens surfaces are coated with AquaDura, a water-repellent layer that helps moisture roll off the lens surface and prevent occluding the scope's objective or eyepiece.

Fortis riflescopes are provided only with L- 4 a reticles.
